Parkha is a small eco village lies in the eastern part of Sikkim (India)(Sikkim is India’s First Organic State).It is situated at an elevation of 5,000 feet above sea level. It is 150 km from NJP Railway Station and Baghdora Airport at Siliguri (WB). It takes 4 hr drive from Siliguri to reach Parkha. (one and half hour drive from Gangtok). On the way one can visit Saramsa Garden (also called as Epica Garden) highly decorated with natural flowers at Ranipool, and many other small falls as well.
The name of the village PARKHA is Tibetan word (Parkha is a word used in Tibetan astrology,it is eight trigrims of Tibetan astrology )and in olden days the old silk route was also done from here with Tibet.
Parkha village is (approx 60km) below Changu Lake and it is surrounded by green forest, small hills, rivers and streams as well. One can experience the nature walk in and around village through forest trails , Parkha view point where entire village is seen from the top, Machong Monastry one of the oldest Monastery in Sikkim,Parkha Gurung Gumpa, Makhim At Rekyap, Barapathing Zheel and also experience the River walk , Buddha falls at rolep and do River bathing, swimming ,Ratey khola cave and many more. For the bird lovers one can experience the Himalayan bird which are found abundantly in the village and little above in the forest as well.
