Bara Mangwa Homestay




Bara Mangwa is a small village close to Tista Bazar in Darjeeling District of West Bengal. The words Bara Mangwa is derived from the Lepcha language which means ‘A Big place for Finget millet’. Bara Mangwa is surrounded by a beautiful tourist destinations like Tinchule,Takdah,Lamahatta which can be visited as part of a day tour. You can also visit the Peshok and Lopchu Tea Garden and the confluence of Tista and Rangit rivers which  is about 8 kms from Bara Mangwa.If you are planning to go there in winter you can experience the glorious vista of Himalayan range from Tinchuley View Point nearby Bara Mangwa.

The Village came into the tourism map after some local villagers came up with a project for farming and allied activity named Bara Mangwa. Darjeeling and Kalimpong towns easily accessible from here. In this  village you can soak in the beauty of a tranquil hill station and In the evening you can experience the twinkling lights of Kalimpong just across the hill.

The Best Time to visit Bara Mangwa  is during the winter season when the orange orchards are boosting with the vibrant colour of oranges.
