Gorubathan is a small town in Kalimpong district. It is situated on the east bank of river Chel. The picturesque landscape of the plains meeting the mountains is unique to this place and it is one of the major attractions for the tourists.
The place is about 73 km from Kalimpong town (via Lava) and 23 km from New Mal junction. Gorubathan can be reached through NH31 till Damdim. From Damdim one road goes north till Lava through Gorubathan. Some of the most beautiful tea gardens of Dooars, including Ranichera, Rangamati, and Sylee can be seen on the way to Gorubathan from Damdim.. The beautiful tea garden, Pathorjhora is situated on the other side of the river Chel.
Jhandi dhara, Dalim Fort are the major tourist destinations near Gorubathan. One can also visit Sakham forest which is about 8 km from Gorubathan village. The aura of tranquillity can be felt from the calmness of this place.
