Bijanbari is most certainly one of the most beautiful nearby places, which you can visit from Darjeeling. You can reach Bijanbari from Darjeeling in 2 hours (24 kms), via a stunningly beautiful road, passing through some of the best views in the whole of Darjeeling district. While reaching here, you can see gorgeous waterfalls like Hima falls, prize winning tea gardens like Marybong, Rishihaat, Chontong etc., famous Biswambhar rock, a steep 50-ft high rock rising vertically.

Finally, you reach Bijanbari, a sleepy town beautifully surrounded by waterfalls, tea gardens, and mountain peaks is located at an altitude of about 2,500 ft. You will be mesmerized with the lush green ambiance of the valley and the roaring Chota Rangeet flowing down below, and would definitely wish to spend a day or two in this bird watchers paradise, watching local people farming cabbages, cardamom, beans, squash, tomatoes, oranges and other vegetables.
